Description

Beach Coders is a coding bootcamp located in Los Angeles that specializes in JavaScript and front end development. This immersive part-time bootcamp covers a range of web development tools and coding languages. The program is live an in-person. The Beach Coders bootcamp is designed to help people increase their coding knowledge, but it’s also designed for people looking to break into the tech industry. The programs emphasize team learning and individual projects, as well as practice and portfolio-building activities. The program aims to train students to become competitive in the coding workforce and access new career opportunities. No previous coding experience is required, but the program can accommodate people of varying skill levels. Graduates will receive a coding certificate upon graduation from the course.

Additional Info

Each course at Beach Coders offers a standalone coding certificate. These courses are available in individual four-week blocks, but students can complete all three courses in eight weeks part-time. The front end CodeWave program begins with the fundamentals of computing and web development. During this time, students learn HTML tags, forms, page layout, positioning, CSS selectors, responsive web design, Materialize, and the basics of Terminal. During week two, students learn the basics of JavaScript and computational thinking, control flow, manipulating the DOM, objects, functions, data structures, arrays, version control, and more. Week three focuses on programming paradigms, Ajax, jQuery, GitHub, databases, object-oriented programming, and more. Week four covers Node, React, and more portfolio projects. The user experience design course covers many of the same topics as the CodeWave course. In this program, students also learn design basics, lean, agile, waterfall, prototyping, business analysis, wireframing, and more. CodeWave.JS is the advanced CodeWave program and features a full application building project at the end of the course. CodeWave.DS is the data structures CodeWave, and covers algorithms, blockchain, frameworks, databases, Node, advanced JavaScript, and more.

Course schedules at Beach Coders vary between programs. Note that each ‘private’ course offers one-on-one training instead of the traditional classroom environment. Students who enroll in a one-on-one private course may have hours that vary. The user experience design course runs from Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM through 3:30 PM. Students can also attend this class from Monday to Friday 3:45 PM to 6:15 PM. The advanced web development JavaScript and full stack course runs in the evenings, Monday through Friday from 6:45 PM to 9:15 PM. The end web development class offers morning and evening sessions on Monday through Friday. This course runs from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM or 6:45 PM to 9:15 PM. Private one-on-one courses are available for front end web development, user experience design, and advanced web development.

The Beach Coders Academy bootcamps are specifically designed to prepare students for a tech job in the industry. The programs are structured to be competitive and to equip students with in-demand programming skills with up-to-date and industry-standard languages. Beach Coders staff and alumni currently work at tech companies such as SpaceX and Legal Zoom, as well as NASA, NBC Universal, and Boeing.

The Beach Coders bootcamp allows students to enroll online. Additionally, the program offers transparent pricing information for all of its courses. The immersive CodeWave course, which covers front end web development, costs $2,277 upfront. The private user experience design program, called Ultimate UX, costs $2,477 upfront. The full stack web development CodeWave.JS course $2,477. The CodeWave.DS course, which covers data structures, algorithms, and blockchain, costs $2,477 upfront. CodeWave Solo, which is the private one-on-one version of the immersive CodeWave course, costs $200 more than the immersive course. CodeWave Solo costs $2,477 upfront. The cost of tuition covers the entire program, but each course requires students to furnish their own laptop computers. Minimum specifications for student laptops are Windows 10, Mac OS X Sierra 10.10, 2.5 GHz processor, 4GB of RAM, 120 GB HHD, and Wi-Fi.

I have to say this bootcamp was incredible. I have grown SOOO much. It’s only been a month. I feel like a different person in comparison to how I thought and looked at HTML, CSS, JS 30 days ago. This class was the best investment of 30 days ANYONE could ever do. 3 hours a day/5 days a week…its a no brainer. We learned HTML/CSS/Javascript/jQuery/ReactJS/Node.JS/OOP/AJAX/JSX/AJAX/Git/terminalCommandLine/JSON/. It would’ve taken months of training for other schools to teach this and help me understand this. So just this alone is very impressive. The instructor was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable, and sometimes I felt like he had to be a genius at times. lol. But great class. I was trying to self teach myself with codeacademy and a ton of others…this class moved me forward SOOO much I cant thank them enough! I highly recommend for a a beginner launchpad, as a refresher, or just as the perfect pivot to any terrible career you would like. This class developed an even bigger passion for coding/programming! Sign up, you WILL NOT regret it…

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Beach Coders. I came into the course with very limited knowledge of web development and I left feeling much more confident in my skills. I would suggest this to anyone looking to build a foundation in development. Practice and study outside of class and you’ll get your money’s worth.

I went in as a beginner and came out with enough basics and resources to be able to continue learning. It’s an immersive, fast-learn model from which one gets the most benefit if able to put in lots of study time outside of class. In any case it offers a wealth of training that goes much farther much faster than expensive college programs. Instructors who know their stuff, and who make class enjoyable and fun while instructive and providing full value. Job support is offered but I haven’t yet taken advantage of it.

I took the course and found it to be a great experience. The instructor was passionate and made it fun! Even though it was a lot of content in just four weeks, by the end of the course, I had absolutely no doubts at all. Super professional material, I felt everything we covered was on the cutting edge of Front-end development. I recommend it!

This review was left by a former student now-employee of Beach Coders Academy. Have you been through the course? Leave your review!

In one month, Beachcoder’s Academy taught me the use of languages needed to create a website from scratch. Awesome! Logistically speaking, the instructors are patient, knowledgeable and transfer that knowledge in an easily understandable manner, the classroom is comfortable and conducive to learning and there’s plenty of free parking. Prior to taking the Code Wave course, I wondered what it takes to create a website. Now I know. This course is a great way to begin one’s journey into the world of coding. It gives someone like me with absolutely no coding experience at all a good launchpad into the tech world. I feel I can now talk intelligently on the subject – – and feel confident in the knowledge to further my experience in coding on my own. Thanks, Beachcoder’s for the great experience!!!
